I feel so grateful to truly love my job.

Peacock Republic was founded with social responsibility at its core and we make choices every day that globally regard those around us and the world we all share.  So I was especially honored and excited this year when the opportunity arose to partner with We International to effectuate a microenterprise project in Uganda.  We are enamoured and encouraged with the work that We, Int. does globally and were humbled at the opportunity to provide microenterprise training to women in East Africa who have been rescued from prostitution and now reside at an after care shelter.

By giving these women the training and tools they need, they’re now producing limited edition collections of our soy candles for sale through our flagship and stockists.  And they’re now equipped with trade skills which enable them to generate income for themselves and their children, helping them break the cycle of poverty.

This project is unique in that 100% of profits are returned to the women and We International, a Wisconsin based non-profit organization.  These limited edition seasonal collections will be available soon and I encourage you to check them out and support this amazing project.

so for a while i did what i have slight reservations against… teasing.  i even had a guessing contest and someone (with an Anthropologie love affair) won (though there were lots of great guesses!).

i am thrilled to announce we are now carried at Anthropologie stores across the U.S. and Canada.  my excitement doubled as i adore them.  i get lost in their stores and find the most gorgeous things.  our ‘here comes the sun’ line is now exclusive to them and you may find our other lines there as well.

hopefully, like myself, you get lost in there too. and find us…

peacock republic has a secret.  and this goes against my personal adversity to teasers. but, it is wonderful and exciting.  and in a few weeks we will share it with you.  starting april 4th, we will be somewhere new and insanely gorgeous.

and to offset the tease pangs, if you email me your prediction and get it right, we’ll send you a box full of peacock republic goodness.  first right answer wins.  and you may email me at…. erinpeacock@peacockrepublic.com

where in the world will peacock republic soon be? good luck!

proud mom

every day when i arrive to my office, i check on my babies outside.  this may be corny, but i am proud of my little guys out there.  they were once just one sheet of packaging paper per planter and now look at them.  my babies are growing up.  strong. they survived the freezing temps of winter and as a not so proud mothering confession… i hardly watered them.

i am elated that we can package our bars this way and that no packaging is retiring in a landfill.

three cheers for our amazing soap, flowers and spring!

hope everyone has a great week, erin

oh, it happens…

i am dancing around today with glee because i am so excited to welcome ink & peat as our newest stockist in portland, oregon.

if i lived in portland, i would buy gifts and indulgences galore or just linger looking at the seemingly millions of amazing things at this a++ curated boutique.  just walking in is fun.  seriously.

so three cheers for being stocked here!

p.s. if you are a facebooking lass or lad, please check them out here.

update! alert the press!

we apparently have wildflowers with a wild streak!  despite freezing temps and every living thing checking out at my own home, these babies are unfazed.  i took this picture today, because despite the winter climate, they are thriving.

all this loveliness from one bar of soap.  if you didn’t know, we package our organic face and body bar soap in plantable packaging that sprouts wildflowers.

i need to learn from our packaging and thrive myself despite the occasional chaos around me. and plant the packaging in my own yard to avoid winter landscape death.

i hope everyone is having a great week!

blooming soap

the low today is 38°F, but even still… look what’s blooming outside our office.

not too long ago i planted the packaging from one bar of soap and this is what sprouted.  that’s right!

if you didn’t know, our bar soap is packaged in plantable paper that sprouts wildflowers.  and i must say, i’m pretty impressed with the full planters outside.  full of flowers from one bar of mint bliss.

chai tea latte and and wildflowers! that’s having your cake and eating too.

love,

erin

gratitude

i spent thanksgiving with my family, crisp mountain air and lots of laughing. i laughed until i cried more times than i can count.

we went hiking after dinner and i thought a lot about the multitude of things i am grateful for.  and there’s so many.  everyone reminisced and new memories were made.  kids played in fallen leaves and for a few days i was computer free surrounded by people i deeply love.

and on the heels of the holiday i have even more to be thankful for.  i have a busy week at peacock republic. we will be making a donation to feeding america this week.  amazingly, one dollar provides seven meals for families struggling with hunger. i’m also filling bottles of soap for our upcoming soap drop to the sulzbacher center in a few weeks.

i’m grateful that a close family friend celebrated his birth today and we welcomed a new family member into the world.  i held this sleepy bundle of love until my heart completely melted and it was voted that my watery eyes needed to share him.

…and thank you.  peacock republic’s customers allow me to get up every morning and do what i love.  what i could and do talk about for hours.  what fills me up professionally.  thank you.

but right at this moment. right now. i’m thankful for sleep. and off i go.

love,

erin

it’s so hard for me to have favorites.  there are a handful of cities in the u.s. that i just adore and please don’t ask me to tell you my favorite movie or book.  there are so many.  people, movies, books, cities, you name it…. i think there are so many amazing things about everything and everyone.

…there are a few select exceptions to my favorites list though. one being my favorite color. coffee. oh yes. coffee is a beautiful color in my world. and the color of sunsets, which makes my jaw drop.

so it’s on this gorgeous saturday in jacksonville (after drinking coffee and hoping to catch the sunset tonight) that i am making, delivering and shipping two very popular lines to two really awesome places.

this will be my second delivery of lemongrass love to violet boutique in jacksonville this week.  when i stop by violet and start roaming around i feel like it’s my birthday.  seriously.  how can texie (the most gracious and helpful proprietor) possibly curate the most amazing collection of clothes and accessories? i don’t know, but she sure does it.

and our chai tea latte is headed to nyc.  oh i cant even get started.  you might tilt your head in confusion and wonder if it’s possible for me to be deeply in love with a city (or many cities for that matter).  haven spa in soho is one of our newest stockists and the word on the street (150 mercer street that is) is that they are introducing winter treatments utilizing our chai tea latte sugar scrubs and lotions.

i know many of the awesome lasses and lads that make up the coolest customer base ever live in jacksonville and nyc.  so please, pop over and take a look.

thanks again to all of you.

love, erin
